Annual Main Events
Prepare Affair 2016 is Sat. Nov. 12!
What Is Prepare Affair?
Prepare Affair is a volunteer event that brings together more than 3,000 volunteers to help low-income, elderly and disabled homeowners prepare their homes for winter. One of the largest one-day events in the tri-state, volunteers at Prepare Affair will perform winter preparation activities that will make a huge difference for elderly homeowners with physical limitations.
When is Prepare Affair? This year’s event will be on Saturday November 12th. Online registration will open in September. PWC Volunteer T-shirts will be on sale prior to the event and the day of the event for $6, and are not required to participate.
What kinds of services are performed during Prepare Affair?
Services range from raking leaves and cleaning gutters to other small winter preparation tasks.
How do I volunteer? Volunteering is easy! Simply register online or contact our volunteer department at (513) 351-7921. You can put together your own crew and be a crew leader, join an existing crew, or volunteer independently.
What is a Crew Leader?
One person in a large group is designated as the Crew Leader to act as liaison between PWC and the group. Responsibilities include recruiting volunteers, attending a coordinator meetings at PWC, and communicating with the homeowners. The deadline for crew leaders to sign up is October 30 (but the earlier the better!). Contact Aaron Grant at 513-351-7921.
