Annual Main Events

Prepare Affair 2017 is Sat. Nov. 11!

What Is Prepare Affair?

Prepare Affair is a volunteer event that brings together more than 3,000 volunteers to help low-income, elderly and disabled homeowners prepare their homes for winter. One of the largest one-day events in the tri-state, volunteers at Prepare Affair will perform winter preparation activities that will make a huge difference for elderly homeowners with physical limitations.

#OURTURNTOSERVE celebrating our local Veterans

This year’s Prepare Affair is special because PWC will be kicking off its annual Ramp it Up for Veterans campaign the same day as Prepare Affair. We aim to serve over 250 Veteran homeowners and spouses of Veterans and PWC staff and volunteers will work side-by-side with local veteran groups to give back to those veterans in the Tri-State most in need of PWC’s services.

Right now, more than 9,000 veterans over the age of 65 are living in poverty in the Tri-State. These hometown heroes need our help. Consider volunteering or making a donation to PWC's Ramp It Up For Veterans Campaign by clicking here.

When is Prepare Affair? This year’s event will be on Saturday, November 11th. Online registration will open in September.

What kinds of services are performed during Prepare Affair?

Services range from raking leaves and cleaning gutters to other small winter preparation tasks.

How do I volunteer? Volunteering is easy! Simply register online or contact our volunteer department at (513) 351-7921. You can put together your own crew and be a crew leader, join an existing crew, or volunteer independently.

What is a Crew Leader?

One person in a large group is designated as the Crew Leader to act as a liaison between PWC and the group.  Responsibilities include recruiting volunteers, attending a coordinator meetings at PWC, and communicating with the homeowners.  The deadline for crew leaders to sign up is October 30 (but the earlier the better!). Contact Aaron Grant at 513-351-7921.
