Jean Swartley has been volunteering with People Working Cooperatively for around 10 years. She first got involved when Kathy Zielinski came to her church, to speak about PWC.
Jean said that she had known about PWC before Kathy came to speak. Being a social worker Jean was familiar with PWC and the services they offered. She felt that PWC was a great organization that offered good services. She said that so many elderly people out there need this kind of help.
Volunteering with PWC has been a good experience for Jean. She has participated in PWC’s Prepare Affair in the past and this year she participated in the Repair Affair event helping 98 year old Elizabeth and 81 year old Lula make necessary repairs and improvements to their homes.
She said that she tries to work with people near her church and that PWC has always been very accommodating when finding jobs for them. In working with PWC they are able to do more to reach out to their community. Jean looks forward to continuing a great relationship with PWC in the future.
