About Volunteering

Something As Simple As Time Can Change A Life

PWC’s dedicated corps of 6,000-plus volunteers is a tremendous asset to the organization’s ability to maintain a strong presence in the community and complete thousands of home repair jobs a year. The time and contributions of people like you help your low-income, elderly and disabled neighbors remain independent and safe in their homes.

Individuals of all skill levels interested in giving back to the community are welcome – from master tradesmen to those wanting to learn a skill and even those who can only perform simple household tasks. In all cases, volunteers will be matched with projects based on their skill sets and levels of experience. We can create a volunteer exerience for you or your company!

How Can I Volunteer?

The PWC Volunteer Involvement Program (VIP) is host to a wide range of projects and opportunities to benefit clients in a variety of ways. Questions? Please call our Volunteer Manager Aaron Grant at (513) 351-7921.

PWC welcomes volunteers who can get involved in all different capacities, including:

Annual Volunteer Events
Register to participate in PWC’s organized, one-day volunteer events, including Repair Affair in the spring and Prepare Affair in the fall.

Home Improvement Saturdays
If you miss one of PWC’s major events, attend “Home Improvement Saturdays” on the third Saturday of every month. Come alone or organize a group to visit clients’ homes and help with tasks like yard work and simple home repairs. Help our clients tackle the “wish list” projects that continue to grow throughout the year. Due to contract limitations, there are certain projects the PWC staff cannot perform.

Field Service Volunteers
Join PWC’s immediate team of field service volunteers, consisting of retired professionals with home improvement skills needed to complete quick-hit repairs on clients’ “wish lists”.

Team Volunteering
Create your own experience with your church, civic group or friends and team up to complete various projects. We will work with you to find a job that meets your needs and your schedule.

Training Experiences
Learn specific skills by participating in special monthly training sessions, hosted by experts from local home improvement businesses. You may also choose to apprentice with an experienced volunteer to learn more about a particular trade and then apply it to future volunteer opportunities.

Start making a difference in your community today and join PWC’s rapidly growing body of volunteers. For a complete look at all of PWC’s community outreach and volunteer opportunities, please visit our events section.
