"A Place to Call Home" Art Installation

The art application is now closed! Thanks to all that applied.
We will be announcing the finalists soon...

People Working Cooperatively (PWC) is pleased to announce that it will be hosting our second annual juried art exhibit "A Place to Call Home" at PWC’s 2018 ToolBelt Ball Gala. In keeping with PWC’s mission of providing home repairs and accessibility modifications for people with mobility issues, each piece of completed artwork for 2018 must incorporate a physical window in its design. After the initial selection of participants, each participant will have (3) months to create their art piece. This opportunity is open to any artists, community group, students etc. living in the Tri-state area.

Artists have been selected for the 2018 A Place to Call Home Installation. Windows will be displayed at the ToolBelt Ball on April 7.

"A Place to Call Home" Project Intent

PWC’s ToolBelt Ball’s mission is to spread awareness of who People Working Cooperatively is and to directly raise funds for PWC’s Modification for Mobility Program, a program that allows individuals in the tristate to remain safe in their homes. Jackson, featured in the video above, was just one of many clients that PWC has been able to serve because of our annual gala. This art installation will reinforce the idea and theme of home to our event guests and open up the discussion of what makes a “home”. Windows created for the "A Place to Call Home" Art Installation will be auctioned off with all proceeds going to our Modifications for Mobility Program.

In 2017, thirteen local artists were commissioned to create art from doors, symbolizing what home means to them. The show raised a total of over $13,000 in show sponsorships and proceeds. The artists that participated in our kickoff show included: Susan BeresfordLady Blue EyesJan CheccoJim Conroy, June DaleyBreanne & Mike Daly, Adam HaywardCat JohnsonJulia Martin, Emily MasonKaren McGarryBrendan Saddlemire & Erica Wine
