"A Place to Call Home - Capturing Our Community"

People Working Cooperatively is seeking local photographers to submit images that will be displayed and auctioned off at PWC’s 2020 ToolBelt Ball Gala on Saturday March 21, 2020. We are looking for images that shine a light on the cultural uniqueness of our greater Cincinnati neighborhoods/communities and what “home” means to you. Proceeds from these auctioned pieces will benefit PWC’s Modifications for Mobility Program.  

 

You are invited to submit up to 3 images that interpret the theme of home and building community.

 

Up to twenty-four images will be selected and artists will receive a $250 stipend towards printing and display preparation (framing, metal print or other display materials).

 

Project Timeline:                                                 

Monday, February 24, 2020 - Application deadline is 5:00 p.m.


Friday, February 28, 2020 - Participants informed of selection.


Monday, March 16, 2020 - Display-ready pieces  returned to PWC by 5pm. Stipends will only be awarded to pieces submitted by the deadline.


Saturday, March 21, 2020 - Completed projects displayed and auctioned at PWC’s ToolBelt Ball.

 

 

 

Submission Instructions

Artists interested in this project should email up to 3 images in .jpeg format with below information to: PWC.APlacetoCallHome@gmail.com.   Large images can be sent to the same email address using a Google Drive link.

 

·    Please name your Files as follows: Artist’s last name, first initial and title of work (ie: Strand, P-APlacetoCallHome.01.jpeg)

·    Completed pieces should not exceed 24x26 inches. (Larger pieces may be considered with  prior discussion.)

·    Please also submit a word document that contains: artist’s full name, mailing address, phone number, email address, and titles of images.

·    Submit a brief artist biography and artist statement explaining your work as it relates to the theme.

·    Photographers will be responsible for framing/displaying their piece. Submissions should also indicate display method (ie: framing, mounting on metal, other material)


 

All submission materials should be received by PWC by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, February 24, 2020.

Participant Benefits

 

Artists whose pieces are chosen for “A Place to Call Home” Art Installation will receive the following:

       $250 to be paid after the framed/display-ready photograph is submitted to PWC on time.

       Opportunity to purchase up to (2) tickets to ToolBelt Ball at cost ($85 discounted from $150)

       Works will be displayed prominently at The ToolBelt Ball on March 21, 2020

       Works may be featured in ToolBelt Ball media efforts

-          Inclusion in media releases for event 

 Promoted through PWC website and social media (Facebook, Twitter)
