It had been six years since John E. had left his home.

Often, he'd roll his wheelchair up to the window, looking out at life passing buy. Cancer and an aneurysm had taken his mobility nine years before- but not his will to enjoy living. His aging home was both his retreat and his prison he could not navigate out of the home because of steps.

"I've learned to love movies," he said, pointing to a DVD collection.

But an advertisement about PWC made him curious; when he called, he found he was eligible for a ramp. Now, he loves to drive his scooter to the park, to visit neighbors, even down to the corner store for a soda and a chat.

"It's like I've been given the world," he said. "There just aren't words to express how grateful I am to PWC."
